"I just love music.... and can fake guitar enough to get by," that's how I could sum up my bio.
I started playing guitar when I was little because my dad played and would leave the guitar setting around. I was kind of ornery, so I would grab it and try to play something I heard on the radio. I just laid the guitar in my lap and used my thumb on the fret board to play. I played drums in High School band, which led to me playing drums in a country rock band for a short time. We didn't have a name and we only played once, wasn't good. I sang all through High School in choir and won 1st Tenor all State my senior year. But I hate to sing lead. I have a choir voice, so I sing harmony on as many songs as possible. I finally bought an electric guitar and started the band "Grand Marshall" in 1981. That was a lot of fun...great memories!
This is the most fun I have had since the early 80's. Singing harmony with Mary, John and Travis and Mike is wonderful. I can't say enough about our bass player Mike Bullen....he is not a flashy player, but is always their when you need him. This band also enjoys great support from Mike's wife Linda, Stephanie...Travis's better half, and Mark, Mary's hubby.
People say we are too old to be rockin...I say they are wrong...your never to old...anyway, like I said from the beginning...I just love music, and to be able to play it with other people is just the best....I hope you enjoy our music as much as I do!! We have enjoyed great success so far and I think it can only get better. I look out into the crowd and see familiar faces over and over again and it blows my mind that people like to come see the band time and again!!
